Rangers

Retail Support Rangers are a familiar, on-the-ground presence patrolling the BID areas to increase safety and security and supporting businesses in dealing with anti-social issues and crime reduction. They are fully committed to making the BIDs a safer place to work, shop and socialise.

They are in direct contact with the police, acting as a liaison between the police, the BID, the businesses and their own security teams.

Within the Broadmead BID area, businesses will be familiar with their Retail Support Rangers, who have been in post since 2019. They can be contacted through the radio system while on patrol and are fully trained in DISC, equipping them with the latest intelligence on suspects and offenders.

Between January and November 2023, the Retail Support Rangers assisted with 90 arrests and recovered stock worth £32,136.48.
